Our Story
The Better Basement Company has been successfully finishing basements in New Jersey for more than 20 years. The company was started when Joe Baccarella and Charlie Moore realized that most basements were considered side jobs or winter jobs for most contractors, as they were focused on other types of construction. Because of the unique nature of what has to be done in the layout, design, and build-out of a basement to meet all the special codes required by township regulations, they decided to devote their construction company to this niche market of design/build. They created the Better Basement Company, which has grown over the years to be the premier basement finishing company in Central and Northern New Jersey. They enjoy the success that has come with thousands of happy customers, from very simple basement layouts to very unique and elaborate designs.
